“Growing Families”

New Moms serves pregnant and parenting young women ages 18-24 through housing, coaching, and training.These moms are brave and beautiful.
The mural honors the flourishing families that these moms are growing, even amid the mud and weeds of life. It incorporates Adinka symbols for motherhood, honoring the ancestor women who have planted seeds in their lives.
In Summer 2026, a group of these new moms wrote their own stories to accompany the mural. Their words and artwork were turned into books for their children and read aloud to them at the end of the seminar.
