“They did not give up on me”: Mariah’s Story

#written

After losing the grandmother who raised her, Mariah found herself facing grief and the challenges of growing up on Chicago’s West Side.

But through New Life Centers, she discovered a church family that welcomed her, supported her and showed her God’s enduring love.

They did not give up on me—and I wouldn’t give up on them.

Today, Mariah is a lead teacher at a Christian daycare ministry, pouring that same love into the children she serves. Her story reminds us that God’s love can meet us in our brokenness, give us a family and empower us to love others well.

This Rich in Faith story was shared at New Life Centers in Chicago’s Humboldt Park community. Wherever you are today, may you know that you walk in God’s love.
